Asbestos Testing Service

If you are concerned that a meterial in your building contains asbestos, send a small sample to us and we'll have it laboratory tested for just £30 + VAT.

This service is suitable for domestic and commercial customers, but please exercise extreme care when taking samples of material that you suspect of containing asbestos.

Most asbestos containing materials are perfectly safe unless disturbed or damaged, so in order to take a smaple, please follow some simple health and safety guidelines:

• Always wear a face mask that covers the nose and mouth
• Damp down the material before sampling, or better still, spray with a light adhesive
• If the product is a board or sheet, use pliers with a baby wipe to break off a small sample no more than 1 sq inch
• If the product is spray or artex, damp it down and scrape a small amount into a plastic bag

In all cases, place the sample into a small plastic, resealable bag (sandwich bags are ideal) and then place that bag inside another sealable bag.

Affix a label containing the following information:

• Address of property from where sample was taken
• Type of product (artex, board, roof sheet, etc)
• Your name or company name

Place the sample into a suitable envelope (jiffy bag is fine), together with your name, address and a cheque for £30+VAT (£34.50 @ 15%, £35.25 @17.5%) made payable to Energy & Environmental Surveys Ltd.

It takes between 3 and 5 working days for us to get the laboratory results back in the form of a certificate which is forwarded to you.

Use this service with confidence as we don't cash your cheque until the laborotory result is received.
